Magnetic Resonance Roadmap in Detecting and Staging Endometriosis: Usual and Unusual Localizations

چکیده
Endometriosis is a chronic condition characterized by the presence of abnormal endometrial tissue outside uterus. These misplaced cells are responsible for inflammation, symptoms, scar and adhesions. manifests mainly in three patterns: superficial peritoneal lesions (SUP), ovarian endometriomas (OMA) deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE). It also exhibits atypical extremely rare localization. The updated 2022 guidelines ESHRE recommend using both ultrasound magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as first-line diagnostic tests. Currently, MRI provides more complete view pelvis anatomy. aim our review to provide radiologists with “map” that can help them reporting pelvic scans patients endometriosis. We will illustrate usual unusual localizations (categorized into compartments) post-operative imaging, we focus on role MRI, main sequences use contrast agents.

We report on a patient with a bowel endometriotic nodule that was hypointense on both T1- and T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); histologic examination revealed that the MRI appearance of the nodule was due to the presence of extensive fibrosis. Bowel endometriotic nodules with extensive fibrosis and limited endometrial tissue have a signal intensity similar to that of the muscle on ...

A 48-year-old black woman presented to the University Hospital Medical Center in 1978 with skin lesions. A chest radiograph obtained in 1970 was essentially normal. In March of 1978, she developed small nodules in both lungs and fullness in both hila. Bed rest and various creams for the skin lesions were prescribed. In November of 1978 she developed diffuse bilateral infiltrates and hilar adeno...
متن کاملRepeatability of Detecting Visual Cortex Activity in Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction As functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is too expensive and time consuming, its frequent implementation is difficult. The aim of this study is to evaluate repeatability of detecting visual cortex activity in fMRI. Materials and Methods In this study, 15 normal volunteers (10 female, 5 male; Mean age±SD: 24.7±3.8 years) attended. Functional magnetic resonance images were ob...
متن کاملMagnetic resonance imaging features of vaginal endometriosis
Introduction: Deeply infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) is defined by the presence of endometrial implants penetrating under the peritoneal surface or under the wall of the pelvic organs to a depth of at least 5 mm. This case report describes a case of DIE involving vaginal wall, periurethral tissue, torus uterinus and sigmoid wall. Case Report: A 46yearold female was presented with pelvic pain...
